Dawson - That there were many idols where they lived.
Ellie - That God spoke to him (Abraham).
Graham - That God was going to bless him (Abraham).
(The Bible used Abraham vs. Abram. Probably thought it would be confusing for the under kiddos.)
Good night of sleep for the whole family. Big school day. Please pray for good attitudes, patience, and obedience (and for Mom to know what she is doing).
Love you!

Abraham and Sarah - Part 1
Happy Monday!!
Dawson - Sarah wanted a son badly.
Ellie - God gave Abraham a promise.
Graham - Sarah wanted a baby.
He didn't understand what he was saying but during our prayer time Graham prayed, "Thank you that Sarah will have a baby with a promise." Amazing truth from the mouth of a babe.
Love you!

The Tower of Babel
Dawson -- God doesn't want us to do stuff without him.
Ellie -- They couldn't talk to each other anymore.
Graham -- The Tower of Babel would fall down.

A Flood and a Rainbow - Part 2
Dawson -- God had ALL the water go back into the ground. He also sent a strong wind to help it along.
Ellie -- God gave us a rainbow to PROMISE that there would be no more big floods.
Graham -- God kept Noah SAFE from the storm.
Couple things:
This morning Dawson tied what we have read so far to the timeline we memorized the first week at Classical Conversation (CC) (i.e. Creation, Fall in the Garden, Cain and Abel, the Flood, with tomorrow being the Tower of Babel.) Love it!
Also, I'm reading from The Bible for Children from Good Books. to be more engaging they sometimes add to the details so you might occasionally read a insight that isn't actually found in Scripture but more an assumption of what have been.
Starting school in a few minutes. Pray for a good, productive morning.

A Flood and a Rainbow - Part 1
Dawson -- If God hadn't SAVED Noah we wouldn't be here.
Ellie -- That God kept Noah SAFE.
Graham -- That God BROUGHT the animals to the big boat.
Pray for us today as we ready for our second big day of school tomorrow. Ellie is very nervous about telling about her favorite Bible story during presentation time. She is sharing about God creating all the creatures in the sea. Graham is sharing about God creating us last and Daws is sharing about David and Goliath.
Have a great day! Love you!

Creation is Spoiled
Dawson -- Everything was DIFFERENT after they ate the fruit.
Ellie -- They realized they were NAKED after they ate the fruit.
Graham -- I wouldn't want to be CURSED.
Please pray for us today. Dawson and Ellie have piano and we will do school more in the afternoon than morning. Always a little harder. Help Graham remember we ar working on the letter "f".
Love you

The Garden of Eden
Dawson -- That God BROUGHT all the animals to Adam.
Ellie -- That Adam was ALONE.
Graham -- That Adam NAMED all the animals.
Pray for us today as we start our first official school day after our launch of Classical Conversations yesterday. We'll practice or memory work and come and recite it to each of you before next Tuesday!

Breakfast and Bible
Decided to try reading the Bible to the kids during breakfast with the understanding that after I'm done reading they will tell me something they learned.
Day 1 was yesterday and we read Genesis 1 and 2. Here are the comments:
Dawson -- That in the beginning there was just darkness and water
Ellie -- That God made all the fish and things that swim in the sea
Graham -- That God made us last.
We closed with each kiddo thanking God for the specific thing they learned. Posting their comments will hold me accountable for trying to get it done at least a few days a week.
Hope you enjoy them (what am I thinking, you're grandparents)!!!
Love,
Trace
